FACULTY AND STAFF

The entire faculty at Saint Patrick School is certified to teach in the Commonwealth of Virginia and/or certified by the Virginia Catholic Education Association (VCEA).  Moreover, the men and women on our staff are dedicated to continually advancing their education with advanced degrees and other workshops or collegiate coursework.  For additional information on the individual faculty members and their classroom curriculum, click on the teachers' name or photo.

George Elliott, PrincipalGeorge Elliott:  Mr. Elliott is the Principal of St. Patrick School and teaches eighth grade history.  He has many years of education and administrative experience from Prince William and Spotsylvania Counties .  Mr. Elliott earned a B.A. in Education from Marshall University and an M.A. in Administration & Supervision from Virginia Tech. 

Martha Massad, SecretaryMartha Massad:  Mrs. Massad is the Saint Patrick School Administrative Assistant.  She has been an employee of the school since the fall of 1996 in various positions.  She is a Fredericksburg native and a graduate of the University of Mary Washington with a B.A. in Economics. 

 

 

Maureen Goonan, PreschoolMaureen Goonan:  Mrs. Goonan is in her seventh year as the Preschool teacher at St. Patrick School and her eighth year as a Sunday school teacher to the pre-K children.

Loren Sexton, Pre-school AideLoren Sexton:  This is Mrs. Sexton’s third year as afternoon pre-school aide.  Mrs. Sexton graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Buffalo State College.  Several years later, she received her teaching certificate at Mary Washington College .  She taught third grade in King George County for 13 years Trish Ramirez
 

 

Donna Campbell: Kindergarten COMING SOON!  

Gowarty, Kindergarten AideMary Jane Gowarty:  Mrs. Gowarty is enjoying her fifth school year working with Mrs. Klinge in the Kindergarten classroom.  She has also been a Girl Scout Leader and most recently co-founded the Charitable Acts Club, where students work on crafting projects to be Blessed and given to others in need of special prayers.

Missie Dort, 1st Grade AideMissie Dort:  Mrs. Dort is the 1st grade aide.  This is her eighth year working with the students of Saint Patrick School

 

 

Amanda Ayers, 1st GradeAmanda Ayers:  Mrs. Ayers is the 2nd Grade teacher at Saint Patrick School . Mrs. Ayers received her Bachelor’s Degree from Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers!!). 

Annette Talsma, 3rd GradeAnnette Talsma:  Mrs. Talsma teaches 3rd grade at Saint Patrick School .  Mrs. Talsma earned her undergraduate degree from the University of South Dakota and a graduate degree from the Mary Washington College of Graduate Studies.  In her spare time she teaches CCD classes at St. Mary’s in Fredericksburg .

Maureen Guilfoyle, 5th GradeMaureen Guilfoyle:  Mrs. Guilfoyle teaches 5th grade at St. Patrick School .  She is a graduate of Hunter College and completed a Master's of Religious Education program through Loyola University and the Diocese of Richmond.  She taught at Roanoke Catholic School for over 20 years.

Feliz Cordova, 7th Grade & SpanishFeliz Cordova:   She teaches Spanish and is a SGA Advisor. Mrs. Cordova is a graduate of California State University , Hayward , and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force, where she served as an Imagery Intelligence Officer for 10 years.  Mrs. Cordova’s duty stations included Honduras , Republic of Korea , and the Pentagon. 
 

 

Diane Knerr, 8th GradeDiane Knerr:  “Mrs. K” has been teaching at Saint Patrick School since 1995.  She currently is the homeroom teacher for the 8th grade.  She has a B.S. from Radford University .  Mrs. Knerr won Teacher of the Year for the Arlington Diocese in 2007! Lilly Cleary, middle school math & languageLilly Cleary:  Mrs. Cleary teaches Middle School Math and Language Arts.  She is happy to be back for her 15th year of teaching at St. Pat’s.  She has previously taught First Grade, Preschool, and Spanish for K-8th. 
 

 SPECIALS TEACHERS:

Deb Walsh, 2nd GradeDeborah Walsh:  Mrs. Walsh teaches Computer Technology and Physical Education at Saint Patrick School .  She is a graduate of Mary Washington College .  In 2001, Mrs. Walsh was named Teacher of the Year at Falmouth Elementary School AND Distinguished Teacher of the Year for Saint Patrick School 2007.

Lynne Mauss, MusicLynne Mauss:    This is her second year enjoying the many musical talents of St. Patrick students, after 10 years of public schools in New Mexico and Alaska
 

 

Betsy Bankey: Middle School Art Teacher
 

 

Deanna Dvorak, LibrarianDeanna Dvorak:  Mrs. Dvorak runs the St. Patrick School Library.  She worked with Fairfax County Public Schools for 20 years.  Mrs. Dvorak has an M.S. in Education.   
 

Extended Day and Maintenance Faculty:

Peg McClay, Extended DayPeg McClay:  Mrs. McClay is another new Extended Day staffer this year.  Previously she worked for St. Patrick School for several years then left in the year 2000.  Sandra Brown, Extended Day DirectorSandra Brown:  Mrs. Brown is our new Extended Day Director.  We welcome her from Stafford Christian School where she was a teacher of multiple subjects to students of all age groups.  She has other experience teaching elementary and middle school grades.  Her B.S. degree in Child Development and Education is from Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she also minored in Family Counseling.

James Duffy, MaintenanceJames Duffy:  Mr. Duffy has been the maintenance man at Saint Patrick School for many years.  He also coordinates the Guardian Angels program which provides holiday food baskets and emergency funds to those in need.  Hugh Mulloy, Facilities ManagerHugh Mulloy:  Mr. Mulloy joined St. Pat’s as the Facilities Manager this fall.  After many years working as a human resources professional in New York and Philadelphia, the Mulloys moved to Fredericksburg two years ago to be closer to family.
